2019-20 Missouri State Ice Bears Hockey

The Missouri State University Ice Bears, a Division 1 member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, announce the 2019-20 hockey season will feature only games against Division 1 teams and consist of 18 at home with 17 on the road.
The Ice Bears will play 35 regular season tilts, a significant drop from an average of 47 contests the past two years, opening the campaign on the road against Illinois State University on September 20th in Bloomington, Illinois.
Missouri State’s first weekend at home is October 4 against the University of Colorado, a Western Collegiate Hockey League opponent, at 7 p.m. in Jordan Valley Ice Park. The Ice Bears will host the 2014 through 2017 Division 1 National Champion, which includes Arizona State (2014), the University of Central Oklahoma (2015 and 2017) and Lindenwood University (2016).
The Ice Bears play 17 league games, including eight at home against WCHL clubs. Scheduled home and away league games are against Oklahoma, the University of Central Oklahoma, Colorado, Colorado State University, the University of Arizona and Arizona State University.
Maryville University, Northern Illinois University, and McKendree University are also included in the Ice Bears’ home schedule. The trios are part of 12 new Division 1 teams that have moved up from Division 2. Additional home games include the University of Alabama.
Missouri State ended the 2018-19 season ranked No. 14 among 61 Division 1 teams after a 4-1 defeat of the University of Buffalo on March 21, 2019 and a 1-0 loss to Adrian College the next night in the 2019 National Championship tournament. The Ice Bears were the first team in three seasons to hold Adrian College — the 2018 National Champion — to only one goal in a game.
The Division 3 team starts the season September 27 against Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and will play its home opener on October 4 against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville after the Division 1 game.
Reserved seats and general admission tickets for the 2019-20 season go on sale August 1 and can be purchased in advance through Missouri State TIX locations, online at:, or at Jordan Valley Ice Park on the day of the games. Season tickets are also available by calling Missouri State TIX at 417-836-7678 for ticket purchase information.
Tickets are $9 for reserved seats and $8 for general admission for adults; $4 for general admission for Missouri State students, faculty, staff and children under 13. Ice Bears D3 team game tickets are $4.00 for general admission and are on sale at the door for all home games.

    Heroes 5k Run

Join us this year for the 1st Annual Heroes 5k Run. We will be holding this in an effort to raise money for the Sunshine Brotherhood Charity. This event will be held on the same day as the Willard Veteran's Day Parade and is the perfect event for families and individuals who are looking to give back to our local heroes.

In 2015 the Sunshine Brotherhood was started by Aaron and Linda Goddard. Aaron was a Rescue Specialist for the Springfield, Missouri Fire Department, eleven years into his career he was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. He lost his battle to cancer after 2 1/2 years of courageous fighting in June 2015. While battling cancer Linda and Aaron created a foundation to help firefighters financially during a crisis. A couple of times during their journey the Fire Department did fundraisers and collected money for the Goddard family to help with medical costs. They were extremely touched by these financial gifts and decided they wanted to give something back. They discussed several times that they didn't know what families did if it was not a dual income household. A firefighter's income would not sustain a household during a time of crisis. Linda took the money that was donated after Aaron's passing into the Sunshine Brotherhood - Aaron Goddard Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to provide financial support, education on cancer prevention in the fire service, and to sustain an annual scholarship to Willard High School to a graduate pursuing a trade or public service career.
