    Open Adult Ballet & Conditioning

    This class is open to teens and adults who want to experience dance as a recreational activity for fun and exercise. The class focuses on the use of ballet technique to help with toning, strength and flexibility, and it is offered for men and women at beginner to intermediate levels.

    June 4-July 12
    Summer single class rate - $14 (no convenience charge)
    Summer class card - $50 for 4 classes
    Ages 16+

    No pre-registration is required for this class. Please stop by the Business Office before your first class to fill out a short registration form and remit payment.

    Zumba Kids Jr Class

    In partnership with Studio Fitness, we are excited to offer Zumba Kids Jr classes!

    Zumba® Kids Jr classes are 45 minute, rockin’, high-energy dance parties packed with kid-friendly routines. We break down steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of your family’s life – Yes, parents and caretakers can participate in the class too! Classes incorporate key childhood development elements such as leadership, respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, balance, and cultural awareness.

    Recommended for ages 2 and up. Classes are $5 per child (adults are free).

    When registering, only include children in your group size – you do not need to include the adults who will attend. You can register online here or call 417-202-2025 to sign up.

    Go Skateboarding Day

    Grab your board and celebrate Go Skateboarding Day, established in 2004 by the International Association of Skateboard Companies, with thousands of participants all over the world. Free admission to all skateboarders, beginners to pros (Sorry, no bikes, scooters or rollerblades during the event.) Contests throughout the day, with prizes and all-around shredding!

    Springfield MO's Saturday Morning Bike Ride

    Most great cycling cities have a regular Saturday morning ride that people know they can always show up to and jump in. Springfield, MO now has one, starting in the Spring of 2018.

    This mid-paced 50 miler is a ride intended/designed for: a) those cyclists who are ready to move up from the various beginner, no-drop rides; b) those looking to regain some fitness before riding with more aggressively paced groups; c) maybe some of those folks looking for an easier 50 on a given Saturday; and d) for folks who want to learn to ride in a pace-line.

    Springfield Roller Derby Buddy System Night

    Springfield Roller Derby is a hosting a Buddy System Night, giving anyone who has ever wanted to try Roller Derby the opportunity to put on skates and give it a shot! Everyone aged 18 years and older is welcome to attend. Buddy system night is not just for skaters either, we are also recruiting skating officials, non-skating officials, and volunteers!

    The night will consist of stations testing basic skating skills, an overview of what roller derby is, what it means to be a part of our league, and a short scrimmage to give everyone a chance to see what game-play is like, up close. Everyone will be paired with a skating veteran, so you can spend the evening gaining first-hand knowledge of what this sport is about, and how it works.

    Don’t have the gear? Not to worry. We have plenty of loaner gear for you to use. All you need to bring is yourself.

    Asana Made Simple with Kelsey Esther

    You don't have to be an aspiring celebri-yogi or human pretzel to start incorporating advanced poses into your practice. Learning these poses can help open and/or strengthen new areas of the body while nurturing our spirit of discovery.

    To learn more advanced asanas we need an example, helpful tips, a good warming up and sincere practice.

    This workshop is all about learning how to prepare for advanced asana using props and good preparation and incorporate them into your personal practice.

    Join us June 30 as we welcome back Kelsey Esther, for a fun day of asana play in a friendly environment!

    2018 Springfield Lasers

    For over 20 years, the Springfield Lasers have been proud to bring professional tennis to Springfield, Missouri. This Mylan World TeamTennis franchise was purchased by Mr. Harry Cooper and donated to the City of Springfield, Missouri in 1996. John Cooper and Bob Belote represent the team's ownership. The Lasers played their first match in summer 1996 in the beautiful 2,500-seat Mediacom Tennis Stadium at Cooper Tennis Complex.

    Some of the best players and greatest names have displayed their skills in Mylan WTT League competition at Cooper Tennis Complex including John Isner, Andy Roddick, James Blake, Sam Querrey, Martina Hingis, Martina Navratilova, Monica Seles, Lindsay Davenport, Larisa Neiland, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Anastasia Myskina, Rick Leach, Gi Gi Fernandez, Patrick McEnroe, Anna Kournikova, and Zina Garrison.

    Price Cutter Charity Championship

    This mid-summer charitable tournament brings the excitement and atmosphere of PGA tour events to the Ozarks. Celebrating its 29th year, the PCCC has raised over $14 million for area children’s charities and has featured notable players such as Tom Lehman, Stewart Cink and Bubba Watson. The PCCC, one of the four original PGA Web.Com Tour events, is at Highland Springs Country Club and hosts a week-long schedule of Pro-Am events, with the future stars of golf teeing up in the main tournament July 26-29.

    Purchase your tickets at Price Cutter Supermarkets, participating children’s charities or at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

    Girls Just Wanna Run

    Join us for a morning of fun and healthy activity. Girls Just Wanna Run is the area's first and most fun women's only 5K. Pick your distance with a 5K or 10K option. Start and finish at Cox North Fountain Plaza.  A fast, scenic course through Springfield’s historical neighborhoods makes for an enjoyable run. Start time is 7:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit the the FitLife Program at CoxHealth Fitness Centers to assist patients with rehabilitation and wellness, helping local women stay healthy and active.

    Girls Just Wanna Run participants enjoy a fast, scenic course through Springfield's historical area. Parking day of event is located across from CoxHealth Fitness Centers at Cox North. Stick around after the run for a block party with great refreshments, entertainment, awards ceremony and awesome door prizes from our expo vendors and sponsors designed especially for women.

    Children under 5 may participate at no charge, but will not receive a shirt and bag. No furry friends allowed. Participants with strollers and walkers should start at the back of the group.
