    FREE Boys Workshops

    These free workshops taught by Associate Artistic Director, Brian Norris, are for young boys looking to try dance or simply increase their flexibility and agility. Participants will learn conditioning exercises to increase balance, coordination agility and overall strength as well as interactive musical theatre, jazz and other choreography.

    Attire for the workshop is gym clothes that participants can move in, with socks.

    National Invitation Missouri Winter Games

    A portion of all registrations will be donated to the charity Champions Committed to Kids 



    The Missouri Winter Games is built on the values associated with Champions Committed to Character—a national campaign that teaches integrity, honor, respect, and perseverance through sports.

    Missouri State High School Activities Association State Basketball Championship

    The Missouri State High School Activities Association hosts the championships for boys and girls basketball at JQH Arena and Hammons Student Center.

    National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships

    Annually in March, it is estimated that more than 8,000 visitors travel to Springfield for the NCHBC. Over the course of the week, 800 games are played at 30 different courts in the Springfield area. Teams from nearly 30 states compete.

    The World Taxidermy & Fish Carving Championship

    The 2019 World Taxidermy & Fish Carving Championships® is shaping up to be our biggest show ever. Registrations are as affordable as any we have ever offered and our facility and hotel are the best we have ever offered. There are several new changes to the rules and schedule from previous years.

    Trade Show for Taxidermists. If you want to visit and see the largest industry trade show in the world for taxidermists, you are coming to the right place. The trade show offers 50 different vendors in 160 booths. There you will see everything this industry has to offer. Vendors offering the newest taxidermy forms, glass eyes, products, tools, fur dressers, tanneries, and just about every associated vendor for taxidermists will be there.

    Seminars. We have a world-class line up of seminars and activities throughout the event and, of course, the most prestigious taxidermy and fish carving competition there is.

    Over $40,000 in Cash and Awards. Taxidermists will be competing for $28,750 in cash awards and carvers for $2,000.

    Girls on the Run 5K

    Everyone is welcome at the Girls on the Run 5k on May 4, 2019! Runners at all skill levels will enjoy this event as they run alongside participants of the Girls on the Run program in their end of season celebratory 5k. This event is family friendly, with games, face painting, hair color, and more offered at our pre-race celebrations starting at 8:30 a.m. Further details on parking and packet-pick up can be found on our website at

    Community Runner (16 & up): $25.00
    Student Runner (16 & under): $15.00

    All fees support Girls on the Run in its mission to inspire girls in the area to be joyful, healthy, and confident.

    The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) will hold their 2019 Softball World Series in Springfield.

    36th Annual Mid-America Street Rod Nationals

    The area's largest, most spectacular street rod event with more than 2,200 cars classified as a vehicles that are 30 years old and older. Enjoy kids' and adult games, arts and crafts, an auto swap meet and a church service on Sunday.

    More than 2,000 athletes and coaches, along with family and friends from across Missouri, will converge in Springfield for the Special Olympics Missouri State Summer Games.

    PFI Professional Bull Riders Invitational - Unleash the Beast

    The bulls of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) are headed back to town and ready to buck as they take on the toughest athletes in western sports September 6-8 at Missouri State University’s JQH Arena for the PBR 25th: Unleash the Beast Invitational, presented by Bass Pro Shops. Fans can expect exhilarating 8-second rides, and spectacular wrecks throughout the action-packed weekend as the Top 35 bull riders face off against the rankest bucking bulls in the business.
