Set within the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, these trail runs offer a unique and one of a kind running experience. Dogwood Canyon is a natural paradise with over 10,000 acres, providing a fantastic variety of trails for our 50K/25K/15K Trail Runs. Dogwood Canyon is located close to Lampe Missouri and the trails take runners through both Missouri and Arkansas. This is truly a perfect trail race with rocks, hills, mud, streams and more. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing as the race goes on rain or shine; the temperature can be freezing or in the 70's, so be prepared for weather conditions and dress accordingly.
THE TRAIL RUNS
Each trail run is unique, but all runs will share some of the same territory. The 15K has one aid station while the 25K and 50K have 3 to 5 aid stations. The courses are hilly and somewhat rocky, providing our runners with a physically challenging and satisfying experience. Parts of our trail run course at Dogwood Canyon are only open annually, specially for our trail runs, making the participants of this world-class event amongst the special few who are granted access to these majestic and hidden areas of the canyon. After their first trail run with us, most participants make our exclusive Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Fitness Festival Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs an annual event; we love our runners!
THE TRAIL RUN CHALLENGE
Runners will be able to complete the 15K on Saturday and choose either the 25K or 50K on Sunday, accomplishing a personalized challenge.
There is an additional challenge medal for all runners who complete the challenge; the medal will be received in addition to the race medals for both trail runs completed and also in addition to the finisher's prize for completeing the 25K or 50K.
Challenge Awards: Top three male and top three female overall; masters male and female.
The more that kids walk, run, ride their bikes or take part in any physical activity, the more the message of health and wellness is integrated into our community.
Kids in the Springfield area may take part in the Rock4Kids program by counting the times that they exercise, read a book and do the right thing (i.e., perform an act of kindness, volunteer, etc.). We are using the marathon distance as a concept for points. Kids will track 25 points over a period of time and complete the marathon concept by choosing a distance to walk or run in one of our events. They can turn their tracking sheets in on the morning of the Zombie Run. They do not have to complete the tracking forms to participate.
Registration for this event will close at 11:59 PM Wednesday, October 21. We will reopen limited entry late registration at a slightly higher fee than regular registration costs during packet pick-up, allowing for in person, paper registrations as long as we have spots available. We will not be offering onsite registration the day of the event.
Entry fee into this year's Zombie Run also provides entry into the Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park's "Fall Festival"! Kids may run in their chosen distance and then partake in the corn maze, hayrides, bounce houses and more that day! All registered participants for the Zombie Run will be given a specially designed race shirt and medal to commemorate the event! Participating in the Zombie Run will be a great healthy way to spend a Fall day outside in the Ozarks!
Race Distances: .25 miles, .50 miles, 1 mile, 1.8 miles; kids and other participants can choose their distance based on their age and skill level

The News-Leader 5K (3.1 miles) is great for both runners and walkers who want to have some fun while achieving their fitness goals. This is a great race to do with family members and friends!
It shares the routes of the Bass Pro Conservation Marathon and the Cohick Half Marathon. Participants in the News-Leader 5K will complete their races before most of the half and full marathoners enter this part of the course. The route is mostly flat and takes runners through Springfield on gorgeous paths which are known for displaying beautiful Autumn foliage of the Ozarks during the Fall.
The Maynard Cohick Half-Marathon is a gold-standard race and the perfect race for seasoned and beginner half-marathoners. The half-marathon distance appeals to runners and walkers looking for a challenge to fit their current fitness level and time constraints.
Participants in the half-marathon start at the same time as marathon and marathon-relay participants. Half-marathoners will break off from the marathoners at Holland Street; the routes connect again in downtown Springfield. Most half-marathoners will reach this area before the full-marathon participants reach downtown. Overall, the course is excellent in every way and it displays the beautiful Autumn foliage of the Ozarks. There are some rolling hills from miles two through five, but the course is mostly flat after mile five.
